I'm a few clowns short of a circus, and unfortunately I've disillusioned myself into thinking I can write. Godspeed.

Weekend's Over

5 Random Things:

1. I've discovered a new found fondness (nay, adoration) for the asian invention of those delightful little things called Green Onion Cakes. I've yet to taste ones I hate.

2. Mr. Roberts heads out of town at the end of this week, and I fear that I miss him already.

3. Baby, it's COLD OUTSIDE.

4. There are a great lot of people that were at Pub 1905 in Edmonton's downtown core on Friday that I'm sure would pick me out of a police lineup by saying, "That's her. That's the loud drunken girl with the hiccups that lasted for almost an hour!"

5. I utterly ROCK at paperwork.

Anywho, day one at the job went well. They're over a month behind on back office paperwork so I'm actually reviewing invoices from December 23. I dabbled a bit in reception, too, but after about an hour of that I think I pretty much had a handle on the switchboard so they brought me back and set me in front of 'my work' which was actually a behemoth pile of files that needed to be sorted, reviewed and invoiced back to Telus so we can get our money.

But you know what? I quite like paperwork. I sit there, zone out, pull staples out of things, add up numbers and then sort the papers.

Other plus points?

  • There are no clients yelling at me as if I personally did them some great injustice.
  • I can go for smoke breaks pretty well whenever I feel like it.
  • I never have to deal with dirty street people again.
  • The end of the night doesn't entail a long drawn out process of trying to discover why I'm $136,000 short. I just push my papers into a (semi) neat pile, shut off my computer, grab my purse and say goodbye.

But you know, after Friday's debacle at 1905, I came to realize that there are a great lot of my bank coworkers I'm going to miss. Especially since they got my an HMV gift card, and I got to go buy both the second season of the original TMNT (they didn't have the first!) AND the Mission Hill Box set. I love them.

But the rest of it?

I could totally have done without that.

Oh yeah. And reason # 640,000,000 why my boyfriend, the one with the nice butt (reason #22, just in case you wondered) is better than yours?

Guess who got an hour and a half pedicure on Saturday morning?

I love him.
